As always we had a very busy year with sport in our school. The following are some of the children’s sporting achievements throughout the year:
- The girls were runners-up in the County Longford Primary Schools Plate basketball final 2016.
- The boys were also runners-up in the County Longford Primary Schools Cup basketball final 2016.
- We also took part in the Mixed Hurling Championships (in which we got to the finals) and the FAI 5 a-side Schools’ Soccer.
- We are very proud to call ourselves the Division 2A Gaelic Football Champions of 2016! We were serious underdogs going into this final, with St. Michael’s having beaten us significantly in the round stages in March. We came from a point behind at half time to win the match by four points. This was a huge team effort with a huge team attitude. Well done to the boys. You did yourselves, your families and your school proud.
